|Glucosamine (from vegetarian source)
Glucosamine is involved in the formation of articular surfaces, bone, tendons, muscles, veins, arteries and heart valves. Glucosamine is a component of the proteoglycans that build the cartilage. With the movement of the joints proteoglycans are disrupted and require continuous replacement. The shortage of glucosamine production causes degenerative joint diseases such as osteoarthritis. This illness wears out the cartilage covering the joint surfaces and makes it roughened, bumpy and thinner. Osteoarthritis most commonly affects the knees, hips and spine. The intake of glucosamine reduces the possibility of the development of joint diseases and contributes to the recovery of the joints. Glucosamine, which we use in this product is extracted exclusively from plant sources, mainly from sugarcane.
Chondroitin Sulphate is present in the cartilage. Osteoarthritis wears out the cartilage and the intake of chondroitin sulphate slows that down. In combination with glucosamine, chondroitin helps to restore and maintain the normal structure and function of the cartilage. Chondroitin also helps to relieve the pain caused by arthritic conditions.
Devil’s claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) is a South American plant known for its ability to relieve pain in inflamed joints and to help maintain their mobility. It is used for sore muscles and tendons, to reduce inflammation and to relieve pains in the back and neck. Devil’s Claw also gives positive results when treating digestive problems and high cholesterol.
Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) is one of the richest plant sources of antioxidants. Besides taking care of our cells health and making us look and feel young, antioxidants help to reduce inflammation and thus contribute to easing particularly the symptoms of arthritis. In recent studies, rosmarinic acid, which is one of the active substances in rosemary, shows a limiting effect on arthritis development.
Fish oil contains a high concentration of omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids and is one of the most effective food supplements to stimulate the immune system and to prevent cardiovascular diseases. Recent studies link the use of fish oil with the improvement of brain function and mood and with fighting off depression. Fish oil is recommended in combination with Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcus) against spring fatigue, as they mutually reinforce each other’s effect. Not so well known, however, is the fact that fish oil also improves joint movement, due to the ability of omega 3 fatty acids to reduce inflammation and suppress the development of osteoarthritis. Fish oil is particularly microencapsulated in order to prevent oxidation of the fatty acids and keep their beneficial properties.
Curcuma Longa (Turmeric)
Hyaluronic acid builds intercellular substance in mammals and can be found in lots of human organs and tissues – skin, heart valves, vitreous humor, cartilage and synovial fluid, as in epithelial and nervous tissue. Hyaluronic acid is an important structural component of cartilage, presented as a wrapper around each chondrocyte. Hyaluronic acid inhibits inflammation and reduces the inflammatory response in rheumatoid arthritis, maintains good condition, flexibility and comfort of joints and tendons. It is also extremely useful for maintaining skin elasticity, for good vision and healthy gums.
|Vitamin E (as D,L-alpha-Tocopherylacetate)
Vitamin E is best known as a fat-soluble “hunter of free radicals.” Just like vitamins A and C, it protects the body’s cells against aggressive oxygen compounds, and environmental toxins. Thus vitamin E can delay premature aging and prevent cell damage, leading to illness and even degeneration of cells. Due to its protective effect, vitamin E, which in chemistry language is also called D-alpha-tocopheryl acetate, is widely used in cosmetics. It also plays an important role in protein and fat metabolism. Since vitamin E has anti-inflammatory effect, it can also help relieve rheumatic pains. In addition, vitamin E supports the functioning of the cardiovascular system in two ways. First, it helps to reduce the “bad” cholesterol, and in this way has a positive effect on blood vessels. Second, it prevents adhesion of red blood cells and thereby improves the blood circulation. Signs of vitamin E deficiency are skin problems, muscle weakness and a higher susceptibility to infection. Addition to the daily diet of vitamin E can be achieved conveniently and easily through supplements.
|Boswellia extract 70%
Frankincense (Boswellia), Boswellia serrata, is tree species, which originates from India. The resin thereof is used in traditional ayurvedic medicine for the treatment of arthritis and as an expectorant. The extract has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect and therefore has a beneficial effect in severe pain, stiffness, cramping. Unlike other products with the same action which often cause gastrointestinal problems, Boswellia is very gentle and does not cause any disturbances and digestive ulcers. Incense is rather known for its very strong positive effect on inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease for example. Boswellic acids contained in incense, prevent damaging changes in the cells and slow the aging process. Boswellia reduces frizz and strengthens the cartilage by storing the so much needed for build-up and flexibility of ligaments, collagen. The results appear relatively quickly – an average of two to four weeks of treatment, the effect is even better when Boswellia is combined with turmeric, which is also known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic action.
|Manganese (as Manganese Chloride Hexahydrate)
Manganese has a beneficial effect on bone structure and bone metabolism and helps produce key enzymes associated with the construction of bones. Manganese is involved in the formation of connective tissue, contributes to an increase in calcium absorption by the body, helps for the functioning of the thyroid gland and regulates the production of steroids.
|Selenium(as Sodium Selenite Pentahydrate)
Selenium is one of the most important trace elements necessary for the human organism. It is a cofactor in many enzymes that protect cells from the toxic action of the free radical. This determines its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action. In recent years, shortage of selenium is considered as a possible etiologic factor in certain cardiovascular diseases because of the destruction of cell membranes from free radical damage due to selenium deficiency. Selenium reduces the risk of cancer, contributes to removal of heavy metals from the body, including cadmium and arsenic and it is necessary for smokers and residents of big cities. For men, selenium stimulates the synthesis of sex hormones and is required for maintenance of normal sexual function. Moreover, selenium slows down aging of tissues, including the skin, making it smoother and tighter. It is also important for eye health and bones. For menopausal women relieves attacks of hot and cold waves. Combined intake with vitamin E and pro-vitamin A /beta carotene/ mutually reinforces their effects.
